10,000 Hour Rule

There are no instant experts in chess—certainly no instant masters or grandmasters. There appears not to be on record any case (including Bobby Fischer) where a person reached grandmaster level with less than about a decade’s intense preoccupation with the game. We would estimate, very roughly, that a master has spent perhaps 10,000 to 50,000 hours staring at chess positions…

the biggest misconception about success is that we do it solely on our smarts, ambition, hustle and hard work.find it important to determine how much individual potential is ignored by society. the way in which education is discussed in the our society is backwards. What we do as a community, as a society, for each other, matters as much as what we do for ourselves. It sounds a little trite, but there’s a powerful amount of truth in that, how family, culture, and friendship each play a role in an individual’s success.
In Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell shows that there are a lot more variables involved in an individual’s success than society cares to admit.although there was little that could be done with regard to a person’s fate, society can still impact the “man”-affected part of an individual’s success.

How does one become an Expert with the 10,000 Hour Rule, What Is the 10,000 Hour Rule?
The 10000 Hour Rule is just that. This is the idea that it takes approximately 10000 hours of deliberate practice to master a skill. For instance, it would take 10 years of practicing 3 hours a day to become a master in your subject. It would take approximately 5 years of full-time employment to become proficient in your field. Simply work out how many hours you have already achieved and calculate how many more you need to clock up before you reach 10000.

But even with the question of quality resolved, there’s still that of quantity: Just how much “deliberate practice” is enough? Focused attention, like willpower, is like a muscle and gets fatigued with exertion:

Ericsson finds world-class champions — whether weight-lifters, pianists, or a dog-sled team — tend to limit arduous practice to about four hours a day. Rest and restoring physical and mental energy get built into the training regimen. They seek to push themselves and their bodies to the max, but not so much that their focus gets diminished in the practice session. Optimal practice maintains optimal concentration.it takes roughly 10,000 hours of practice to achieve mastery in a field!!the biggest misconception about success is that we do it solely on our smarts, ambition, hustle and hard work
